Lynda Dickson bought 14 paintings of Jesus' crucifixion last year thinking that once she learned their history, they would pay for her granddaughter's education. Elizabeth, 15, is now sick, and Dickson, who with her husband has raised Elizabeth since she was born, has made the research a full-time job.

Faith & Values

A loving quest
Lynda Dickson wants to sell the artwork she owns to pay for her granddaughter's care. First, she is dedicating her life to retracing the paintings' history.

The 14 paintings, maybe as much as 250 years old and each one 3 feet tall, were supposed to be Elizabeth Dickson's salvation.

Lynda Dickson, an avid historian and art collector, hoped that once she researched its background and authenticated the artist, the artwork would pay for Elizabeth's college education. But things have changed.
