World-class museums, sports help Pittsburgh shed gritty image

PITTSBURGH -- A traveler compiling a list of the world's prettiest urban areas could be forgiven for leaving off the Steel City, which this year celebrates the 250th anniversary of its founding.

But the traveler might well change his mind while sitting at an open-air table at a cafe on Mount Washington, 600 feet above the Golden Triangle of downtown Pittsburgh.
